Flat and barren deserts, snow-capped and striated red canyons, the coniferous woodlands of the Rocky Mountains, and neon lights for daysβsuch filled our adventure across the American West. From California to Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and eventually Colorado, our expedition included a wide variety of otherworldly landscapes, forgotten national landmarks, and a heavy dose of genuine Americana. This generational and geographical cross section is a regional portrait of neighboring, yet diametrically distinct states approaching the final year of the Obama Administration.
