Friday Playlist: Dubble Stuff
As an aural clone to Autre's spring 21 doppelgΓ€nger issue, Dubble Stuff is a gamut-running exploration of musical genres that is everything and nothing at once; an avatar perpetually in search of itself.

Once in a while I find myself pulling out my dub and reggae records: Lee βScratchβ Perryβs βApe-ology,β The Congosβ βHeart of the Congo,β Augustus Pabloβs βKing Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown,β and even that glory hogging egomaniac Bob Marley, who just couldnβt live without the toe (Iβll quantify soon). I donβt listen to these records for the same reasons that hippie stoner burnouts do, which is primarily for the sake of wearing Birkenstocks and drug rugs to more occasions. I have always loved the musicβs textures: the melodies swirling into one another all tied together through one very simple and elegant beat. It is very heady music, indeed, but itβs also very musical music. Click here to listen to the playlist.
