New acquisitions. Just before Christmas, we received what looked like an impeccably official package from @sothebys. Maybe an invite. Holiday surprise deliveries from luxury brands aren’t unusual. On closer inspection, it was an editioned artwork by our favorite LA vandal, Zachary Fernandez (@jesushands - best known for turning the Hollywood sign into Hollyweed in 2017). The timing feels prescient. As much of the art world falters, Sotheby’s sales continue to rise, quietly consolidating power. The auction paddle becomes a symbol of control and spectacle—consensual, calibrated, and a little sadomasochistic. #sothebys #auctionhouse #paddle #art

Sylvie Fleury’s final performance of Instructions for Twilight high up in the WSA building overlooking downtown Manhattan. One of our highlights of the year was getting to collaborate with @performanyc on occasion of their 20th anniversary. The biennial, founded by @roseleegoldberg in 2005, described as a “museum without walls,” has for the past two decades been a champion of the live, theatrical arts. In our FW25 Work In Progress Issue, Autre featured profiles of two commissioned artists: Camille Henrot and Diane Severin Nguyen .
