The PinchukArtCentre (Kyiv, Ukraine) presents the solo exhibition of Damien Hirst, the Mentor Artist of the Future Generation Art Prize. Entitled Two Weeks One Summer, the show is embedded into the context of the second edition of the Future Generation Art Prize, Hirst presents a series of eleven dynamic new paintings he has been working on since summer of 2010. The exhibition will be open from November 3, 2012 till January 6, 2013 in the PinchukArtCentre.

Museo Pecci di Prato in Florence, Italy presents an exhibition entiled LIVE! Art Meets Rock. The exhibition, curated by Luca Beatrice and Marco Bazzini, adopts a suggestive perspective to show how the history of contemporary art and of rock music have followed parallel paths to contribute to the construction of the cultural universe of the last forty years. Music and the visual arts have crossed and overlapped, over time, engendering a unified and consistent landscape; what draws them together is the performative dimension, articulated according to the specific occasion within an exhibition or a concert. LIVE!offers a parallel and original reading of historic events by exhibiting paintings, sculptures, installations, video clips, artworks, LPs, graphic works, photographs, magazines and films. Artists include Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono, William English, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cindy Sherman, David LaChapelle and more. The exhibition will be accompanied by Live!, a book published by Rizzoli with contributions by Luca Beatrice and Marco Bazzini. LIVE! Very sad to learn of the passing of the legendary Barbara “Bobbie” Stauffacher Solomon who AUTRE featured in the SS23 Utopia issue. She was 95. Her legendary supergraphics are on view now at the @sfmoma for all to see. Bobbie studied graphic design in Switzerland under the legendary Armin Hofmann in the late 1950s. Her most famous project, the graphic identity for Sea Ranch, a planned community imagined by architects Al Boeke and Lawrence Halprin on the Sonoma Coast, was a blend of Swiss Style and California Modernism, an amalgam of irreverent hippie cool and clean straight lines in oversized texts and symbols called ‘supergraphics.’ #barbarastauffachersolomon #supergraphics #searanch
