VENERA, A NEW SONIC COSMOLOGY Autre is proud to announce its FW25 WORK IN PROGRESS Issue (preorder link in bio). We are living through a moment of constant upheaval—where change is relentless, and nothing feels fixed. This issue embraces that reality, exploring radical ideas and new visions, from the office to the edges of the universe. Korn founder and guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer and composer Chris Hunt invent a new sonic cosmology on their sophomore album with @_veneramusic —out now. James ‘Munky’ Shaffer and Chris Hunt build a nightmarish, orchestral cosmos. What began in 2022 as pre-show music for Korn’s Requiem tour evolved into a studio partnership rooted in sound design, improvisation, and a shared language of intensity and density. Their process is open-ended: a guitar, a drum machine, a synth, and no guardrails. Out of that freedom came EXINFINITE (PAN), a heavier, more structured follow-up featuring FKA twigs, Chelsea Wolfe, and Dis Fig. It’s not about singles or radio—it’s a project shaped by trust, friction, and the pursuit of sound as a world in itself. Preorder the issue now by clicking the 🔗 in bio (www.autre.love). LUCIEN PAGÈS FOR AUTRE WIP Autre is proud to announce its FW25 WORK IN PROGRESS Issue (preorder link in bio). We are living through a moment of constant upheaval—where change is relentless, and nothing feels fixed. This issue embraces that reality, exploring radical ideas and new visions, from the office to the edges of the universe. As we enter a critical fashion season with majorly anticipated designer debuts, nobody has seen the pendulum swing more than @lucienpages . Over the past twenty years, Lucien Pagès has managed to have his cake and eat it too. In a system of extremes: spectacle and collapse, hype and fatigue, visibility and disappearance, Pagès has made a career out of mastering fluctuations. Since founding his agency in 2006, he has represented more than 150 brands while keeping his own presence understated, building influence not through noise but through careful calibration, crisis management, and an instinct for the shifting rhythms of the industry. In conversation with @ly.as, Pagès delivers a shapeshifting interview — equal parts candid honesty and finely tuned media training. Preorder the issue now by clicking the 🔗 in bio (www.autre.love). We are living through a moment of constant upheaval—where change is relentless, and nothing feels fixed. This issue embraces that reality, exploring radical ideas and new visions, from the office to the edge of the universe. Leading the way: our first cover star, house music legend Crystal Waters.” In an in-depth conversation with Mykki Blanco, Crystal Waters intimately traces her evolution since making history in 1991 with ‘Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)’—the song that pushed house music into the mainstream while confronting social realities. More than 30 years later, she’s preparing an orchestral show with fellow house legends and a documentary, extending her legacy even further. With Gen Z reviving her tracks on TikTok and SoundCloud, Waters’ influence isn’t just lasting—it’s expanding. Preorder the issue now by clicking the 🔗 in bio (www.autre.love). Jim Jarmusch, featured in our SS25 Desire Issue wins the Golden Lion at the 82nd Venice Film Festival for “Mother Daughter Sister Brother.” About the unusual narrative of the tryptic film, starring Cate Blanchett: “These stories are distinct but inseparable. I structured them very delicately—it’s almost like flower arranging for me. The film is very quiet, nonjudgmental, and purely observational. I’m not trying to make a statement, just capturing these fragile relationships. And a lot of the dialogue is stupid as I prefer. I love dialogue that’s silly, natural, without too much intention.” 📷 @patmartin__ #jimjarmusch #venicefilmfestival #goldenlion #cinema

I start with the effect.” In January, editor-in-chief Oliver Kupper interviewed Robert Wilson (1941–2025) ahead of his installation during Salone de Mobile. He talked about his highly religious upbringing in Waco, Texas, moving to New York, working with polio patients in iron lungs and his experimental approach to theater. Photograph by Horst P. Last year when we interviewed BBC journalist Adam Curtis for our Levity Issue he was deep in editing his new five part documentary SHIFTY (now on BBC/YouTube). It tells the story of how the end of the dissolution of the British Empire, money, hyperindividualism, and deregulation gave rise to an extreme, uncontrolled politics of money and power in the UK over the last decades of the 20th century. A result of these power shifts, art and fashion, and subsequently artists and designers, became pawns and sacrificial lambs in a voracious grab for land and market share. The luxury and art worlds were rapidly democratized to sell real estate, beauty products and hand bags. The designers and artists were living in someone else’s dream. It’s a fascinating portal that mirrors a phenomenon that happened in major liberal cities across the globe. #mustwatch #bbc #adamcurtis #shifty #documentary
