Adam McEwen "Harvest" @ Petzel Gallery in New York

Harvest focuses on movement—of the eye, the body, of information—and constraints on that movement. The exhibition comprises three main elements: a pair of sculptures replicating the current model of IBM Blue Gene supercomputer, rendered in graphite (a material closely associated with McEwen’s practice); a large steel and wood staircase sculpture which takes the shape of the letter K; and a group of paintings printed on cellulose sponge, or kitchen sponge, showing interior images of the four tunnels leaving Manhattan. Harvest will be on view until April 30, 2016 at Petzel Gallery, 456 W 18th Street, New York

Billy Childish "Flowers, Nudes and Birch Trees: New Paintings 2015" @ Lehmann Maupin in New York

Lehmann Maupin is pleased to present its fourth exhibition with British artist Billy Childish, a prolific painter, writer, and musician. Inge Morath 'Masquerades' & Enoc Perez 'Cut Shapes' @ Danziger Gallery In New York

Danziger Gallery presents a two-person show of photographs by Inge Morath and photo collages by Enoc Perez. Created half a century apart, both works share a sense of humor, an interest in concealment, and a delight in cutting and making shapes out of paper. Autre's New York correspondent Adam Lehrer caught up with Perez at the opening of “Cut Shapes” to talk about the show, his excitement about technology and why he loves portraying the auras of women.
