Matthew Williamson's 15th anniversary film 'XV' stars Sienna Milller, Poppy Delevingne and Andrea Riseborough. Directed by Tell No One, the film was shot at the imposing 17th century country house, Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire and features eight ballerinas from the Royal Ballet, choreographed by the acclaimed Wayne McGregor, founder of the Random Dance company. With original script by Mark Whelan, the collaborative film makers Luke White and Remi Weekes created the mini movie as a snapshot into the imagination of a 15 year old Williamson, dreaming up his very own fashion fantasy with a very down-to-earth twist at the end.
The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès presents an exhibition called Resolution of Reality, a solo exhibition by Joo Choon Lin. The iconic pop tune from the 1980s was a premonition of the dawn of a technological era. While our experiences today are greatly connected to the extraordinary pace of technological advancement, it has produced a vast amount of waste in its wake. Joo Choon Lin’s Resolution of Reality resurrects these forgotten electronic gadgets in her latest construction of scenarios, portraying technology’s fragile life cycle. This site-specific installation on the third floor of the Hermès store in Singapore explores the unlikely relationship between technology and nostalgia, both fundamentally incompatible concepts by definition – technology incites change whereas nostalgia resists it. Pop Pop Bang is a collaboration between creative director Anna Burns and the photographer Thomas Brown. Through the use of various mediums the pair have curated an exhibition that explores the masculine world of B-Movies and juxtaposed it with the traditional British landscape. Using the themes of said movies – girls, guns and explosives – and twisting it against a very British backdrop these two challenge not only the premise of each subject but also the use of their chosen medias. The duo created a wall of umbrellas displaying elements of the classic B-Movie and located them within three landscapes – one being the forest, then London’s docklands and finally the grounds of Suffolk Manor house. .

Lombard Freid presents Exit Strategy, Dan Perjovschi’s third solo show with the gallery. Perjovschi is known internationally for his unique blend of wit and sociopolitical critique, and for this exhibition, Perjovschi targets the upcoming American presidential election. Having collected months worth of newspapers, Perjovschi’s interest in American and world politics has informed his recent work, a series of interventions directly on the papers. Exit Strategy questions how we’ll reconcile today’s turbulent political state with that of the recent past, specifically the war in Iraq. Is the future born out of the events of the past? Twenty year-old Australian producer Flume just returned to Sydney after playing his first US shows last month at CMJ to an overwhelmingly positive response. Before diving into all that's happening now for this young beatmaker, let's go back to Flume at age 13, when he got his first taste of production by finding a music production program in a cereal box. This discovery began his obsessions with all things synthetic, and started his addiction for plug-ins, sample packs and vintage analogue hardware. Taking a no-holds-barred attitude to music creation, Flume learned to find inspiration in a wide variety of sources and scenes, distilling his sound into a melodic bass heavy style that is uniquely his own. Flume's self-titled debut, Flume, will be out digitally on November 9th via Future Classicwith an official physical release slated for early next year.
Women constitute more than half of the population. In 2008, 60% of voters were women. It is estimated that 10 million more women than men will vote in this election. Despite this, women make up only 16% of Congress. Women earn only 70 cents to each dollar men make. Women of color and undocumented women make less than white citizens. Mitt Romney and the Republican Party are determined to overturn Roe V. Wade. Romney has not supported equal pay for women (The Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act). Romney has vowed to defund Planned Parenthood. Romney has vowed to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Romney doesn't want health care to cover birth control. Romney says same sex marriage should be banned with a Constitutional Amendment. Women, let's rise up. Our vote alone can win this election. A vote for Obama is a vote for your health and your right to choose. It is a vote for equal pay and equal rights. A vote for Obama is a vote for our families. It is a vote to marry who you choose. It's a vote to start a family when you choose. A vote for Obama says that we won't stand for violence against women and that rape is rape. Our vote ensures that our daughters will grow up with the same rights that we've had. A vote for Obama sends a message: This war on women must end. We will not go backwards. This election is shockingly close. Our safety is at stake. Our silence is consent and our vote is our voice. Let’s get active. Let’s get out every vote we can. Let’s make this election a mandate. A mandate to finally ensure women the respect, dignity and equality we all deserve! This is now. This is our call to action. Once and for all, let's take back the power that is so inherently and naturally ours!

Carbon 12 gallery in Dubai presents the solo exhibition of the American multi-media artist James Clar, Iris was a Pupil, which opens today. As the title clearly suggests it, the new works are about the sensation of visual stimuli, the constant challenge of finding new viewpoints, and the demand to keep seeing things from fresh perspectives. “Iris was a Pupil” (also the title of a song by techno legends Autechre) also calls the connotation of synaesthesia to mind. The theme of crossing borders is always present in the work of Clar, who lives and works between New York and Dubai: not only in the sense of redefining the physical limitations and boundaries of media (mediums), but also in the metaphysical sense of investigating subjects such as nationalism and globalism in the age of social technologies. Here, he takes a step further, blurring the lines between dreams and reality, synthetic and real.
