Baldessari progresses from simple, static images, such as a rock in an empty room, to complex narrative scenes, like a woman eavesdropping on her next-door neighbor. Through the gradual integration of cinematic techniquesβ€”motion, color, sound, acting, editing and arcβ€”the artist inverts the traditional Hollywood model, stressing structure over narrative coherence.

Meliksetian Briggs presents Who Am I?, What Am I?, Where Am I?, a series of photo works by New York/Berlin based artist, Aura Rosenberg. Who Am I? What Am I? Where Am I? is an ongoing, series of collaborative portraits of children. Currently, over eighty artists have taken part. John Baldessari, The First $100,000 I Ever Made

High Line Art, presented by Friends of the High Line, today unveiled The First $100,000 I Ever Made, a new work created by legendary artist John Baldessari for the 25-by-75 foot billboard next to the High Line on 10th Avenue at West 18th Street. This is the first of three works to be presented as part of a new series called HIGH LINE BILLBOARD. The First $100,000 I Ever Made will remain on view until Friday, December 30, 2011.

American Exuberance at the Rubell Family Collection/Contemporary Arts Foundation will include 64 artists and 190 artworks, 40 of which were made in 2011, many specifically for this exhibition. American Exuberance will occupy all 28 galleries in the 45,000 sq. ft. museum, and all works in the exhibition are drawn from the Rubell Family Collection/Contemporary Arts Foundation.
